196 SERIES – UNIVERSAL BACK-PLUNGER DIAL INDICATORS
Starrett 196 Series Indicators is one of the most versatile indicators available. Over the years,
this tool has been improved by methods and materials but, the basic design is unchanged.
The design has withstood the test of time and beaten all competition.
While there is a need for Indicators with finer graduations, this indicator with graduations to
0.02 mm and 0.001” will handle by far the majority of jobs. Shank diameter is 6.35mm (1/4”).
Antimagnetic models are also available in series numbers 196A6Z and 196B6.
For full use, the operator first chooses the proper contact from the three hardened contact
points that come with each model.
